Service Description

Embark on a hike to one of Ushuaia's most captivating landscapes: the Esmeralda Lagoon, a glacial mirror of water surrounded by the Fuegian Andes and Patagonian forests that seem frozen in time. The adventure begins with a transfer along National Route 3, part of the legendary Pan-American Highway, from where the trail starts. Within minutes, you will be immersed in a wild natural environment: lenga forests, peat bogs, and rivers fed by glacial melt. The route borders the Esmeralda River, where you can observe beaver dams, and continues ascending towards wide hanging valleys with panoramic views of the Alvear Range. After approximately two hours of hiking, the effort is rewarded with the first sight of the lagoon: its jade-green tones contrast with the snow-capped mountains that surround it, creating a landscape that seems to have been taken from a dream. There, you will enjoy a well-deserved rest with a snack and a hot drink, breathing in the pure Fuegian air. The descent is made via an alternative path, following the course of the river. It is the perfect moment to completely disconnect, leave the noise of the world behind, and feel the deep silence of the southern nature. With a total duration of 4 to 5 hours and a low to medium difficulty level, this trek is ideal for those who want an active experience without needing extensive physical training, always guided by experts who ensure the group's safety and respect for the environment. Includes: transportation, specialized guide, trekking poles, snack, and a hot drink. Recommended to bring: trekking boots, warm clothing, a waterproof jacket, gloves, a hat, a medium-sized backpack, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle. The activity is available year-round, although trail conditions may vary: wet ground, roots, mud, and steep slopes are part of the natural challenge of the Fuegian forest. Note: The excursion may be modified or canceled due to weather or safety reasons, at the guide's discretion. It is not suitable for individuals who do not engage in regular physical activity. Discover why Esmeralda Lagoon is one of the most visited gems of Tierra del Fuego, and let yourself be amazed by the unique energy of the true end of the world. Minimum age: 8 years old.
