Service Description

Tierra del Fuego National Park is located just 12 km from Ushuaia and is unique in Argentina for bringing together mountains, sea and forest within the same protected area. The excursion begins by heading west along National Route Nº 3, crossing the Río Pipo valley and the slopes of Mount Susana until reaching the station of the Ferrocarril Austral Fueguino. In the past, this area was part of the labor zone for inmates of Ushuaia’s former prison. After a brief visit to the facilities, those who have chosen the option that includes the train ride will board the historic train, which travels along part of the old prison railway. The route crosses bridges, peat bogs and striking landscapes, with a stop at La Macarena waterfall to take in the surroundings. Further ahead, we enter Tierra del Fuego National Park, passing the area where the Lombardich sawmill once operated, until reaching the Park Station, where the guide and driver will welcome us. The visit continues inside the Park with stops at its main natural attractions, including Zaratiegui Bay —home to the End of the World Post Office—, Lake Roca —surrounded by mountains and forest—, and the iconic Lapataia Bay, the final point of National Route Nº 3 and the legendary Pan-American Highway. At each location, we take short walks to observe the characteristic flora and fauna of this reserve, known as the southernmost National Park in Argentina. It is an experience that combines history, nature and unforgettable scenery at the southern tip of the continent. Park entrance fee to Tierra del Fuego National Park is not included.
